Day 1. Belgrade (BD)

Sightseeing tour of the city, visit to the Kalemegdan fortress, primary built by Celts in the third century. Republica Square, Knez Mihailova Street, Belgrade's main pedestrian zone. Terazije, Parliament, Princess Lubica Palace and St. Sava Church. Tour ends with a visit the House of Flowers, resting place of Tito, president of the former Yugoslavia. Accommodation. Dinner in a traditional restaurant on Skadarlija Street. Overnight.

 

Day 2. Belgrade – Novi Sad – Sremski Karlovci - Belgrade (BL) (cca 180 km)
Breakfast. Full-day city tour of Novi Sad, which includes a visit to Petrovaradin Fortress, also known at the Gibraltar on the Danube. Visit to the baroque town of Sremski Karlovci. Sample the delicious and aromatic red Bermet wine. Short break. Tour continues to Fruška Gora National Park and lunch at an ethno house. Return to hotel in Belgrade. Overnight.

 

Day 3. Belgrade – Topola – Oplenac – Vrnjacka Spa (BL) (cca 180 km)
Breakfast. Tour of Topola and Oplenac, two beautiful spots in the heart of Serbia that serve as the resting place for Serbian kings of the Karadjordjevic Dynasty. The Karadjordjevici mausoleum is located in Oplenac. Beautiful vineyards abound in Topola. Depart for Vrnjacka Spa. Overnight.


Day 4. Vrnjacka Spa – Sargan Eight – Sirogojno – Zlatibor ( BD) (cca 200 km)
Breakfast. Journey to the gentle mountain valleys and hilly terrain of Zlatibor. This scenic mountain spot in central Serbia is the country's first air spa. Depart for Mokra Gora and enjoy a beautiful journey by steam-powered train on the Šargan Eight Path. Continue to Sirogojno. Experience traditional life in a Serbian village. Visit Sirogojno’s ethno museum and sample delicious traditional specialties, including smoked ham and kajmak, a cream cheese spread, in the village of Mačkat. Overnight in Zlatibor hotel.

 

Day 5. Zlatibor – Visegrad – Sarajevo (BD) (cca 160km)
Depart for Bosnia. Visit the town of Visegrad and the famous Bridge on the Drina. The tour continues to Sarajevo, which shines like few other cities in the world. Visit Muslim, Catholic and Orthodox religious sites. Dinner in a local restaurant with a traditional Bosnian atmosphere. Overnight in Sarajevo hotel.

 

Day 6. Sarajevo (BD)
Breakfast. Sightseeing of Sarajevo, including the old Turkish quarter of Baščaršija, sacred buildings and local pubs with a lively atmosphere. Free afternoon. Overnight in Sarajevo hotel.

 

Day 7. Sarajevo – Mostar – Trebinje (BD) (cca 220 km)
Breakfast. Continue to Mostar, a picturesque and historic town on the Neretva River. Highlights include the city’s Kujundžiluk quarter and the reconstructed 16th century bridge destroyed during the conflict of the 1990’s. The city’s architecture is an interesting mix of Austro-Hungarian and Eastern influences. Continue to Trebinje, which features the longest underground stream in the Balkans. Dinner featuring local cuisine. Overnight in hotel.

 

Day 8. Trebinje – Dubrovnik – Herceg Novi – Kotor - Budva (BL) (cca 150 km)
Breakfast. Depart for Dubrovnik. Sightseeing of one of the most beautiful cities along the Croatian coast. Dubrovnik is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The tour continues to Montenegro and features a stroll along the streets of Herceg Novi, a beautiful Mediterranean town. Continue to the Boka Kotorska Bay, Europe’s most southern fjord. Poets have referred to it as the Adriatic Bride because of its extraordinary beauty. Two short breaks to the picturesque settlements of Perast and Risan. Continue to Kotor, a beautiful town and UNESCO World Heritage site. Depart for Budva. Accommodation in a hotel. Overnight.

 

Day 9. Budva – Cetinje – Budva (BL) (cca 50 km)
Breakfast. Continue to Cetinje, a small town amidst the Montenegrin Karsts, which used to be the capital of the Montenegrin State. Depart for the Mausoleum of Njegoš, a famous Montenegrin poet, writer and diplomat. Depart for Budva and sightseeing of the Budva Riviera. Sightseeing of the Old Town of Budva. Explore the city's narrow Mediterranean streets. Continue to St. Stefan, a former fisherman's village and present-day favorite spot for jet-set holidaymakers. Overnight.

 

Day 10. Budva – Tirana – Ohrid (BD) (cca 320 km)
Breakfast. Depart for Albania. Arrive to Tirana, the capital of Albania. This unique city comprises an interesting mix of styles, architecture. Tirana combines the spirit and mentality of the Mediterranean, the Balkans and the East. Following sightseeing in Tirana, the tour continues to Ohrid, where a traditional Macedonian evening dinner will be served accompanied by the sounds of string instruments typical of the region. Overnight in a hotel in Ohrid.

 

Day 11. Ohrid (BD)
Breakfast. Sightseeing in Ohrid, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This fascinating town features the largest number of churches in the Balkans. There are 365 churches and monasteries in the area – one for each day of the year! Dinner and overnight in a hotel in Ohrid.

 

Day 12. Ohrid – Skoplje (B) (cca 170 km)
Depart for Skopje, the capital of Macedonia. Sightseeing of the city's most prominent sites. Fly out.
