Day 1. Belgrade (D) (cca 20km)

BelgradeArrival to the airport in Belgrade – special meet and assist. Accomodation in hotel. Sightseeing tour of the city - visit to the fortress of Kalemegdan - primary bulit by Celts in the III century, Princes Ljubica Palace, Republica Square, Knez Mihailova Street - main pedestrian zone, Terazije, Parliament and St. Sava temple. Dinner in Skadarlija - the bohemian part of Belgrade. Overnight.


Day 2. Belgrade – Petrovaradin - Novi Sad – Sremski Karlovci- Belgrade (BLD) (cca 170km)

Breakfast. Departure to Novi Sad. Sightseeing of the most important city sites – Square of Freedom, catholic church, Zmaj Jovina Street, Dunavska Street, Orthodox church…Visit to the Petrovaradin fortress, built from 1692 to 1780, also know as ″The Gibraltar on the Danube″.

Departure to Sremski Karlovci - small baroque town, famous for its beautiful architecture. City sightseeing (Orthodox church, Patrijarsija court, Orthodox Seminary, the fountain „Four Lions“, Chapel of peace, Stefaneum palace). Wine and grape from the nearby vineyard on the brows of the Fruska Gora Mountain, are one more highlights of this town. Visit to one of the wine cellar, with snack and tasting of local branded aromatic wine called Bermet. Departure to Fruska Gora. Lunch in Ethno house in Maradik village. Visit to monastery Krusedol – this monastery was established by Bishop Maksim (Djordje Brankovic) in XVI century and presents one of the most beautiful monasteries on Fruska Gora. Monastery church is dedicated to Blagovesti and it is painted very plentiful – the oldest frescos date from the half of XVI century. Return to Belgrade. Dinner on a boat raft. Overnight.

Day 3. Belgrade – Topola - Oplenac – Vrnjacka Spa (BLD) (cca 220km)
Breakfast. Departure to Belgrade. Arrival to Topola – Oplenac. Visit to Memorial Collection of King Petar the First - including the Church of St. George, the Mausoleum of the Karadjordjevic Royal Family, Petars House, Gallery with private things of King Petar and King Aleksandar, Town of Karadjordje (built between 1911 – 1913 with personal goods and authentical weapons from the First Serbian Insurrection) and the Wine House with gallery. Lunch in a rural household in authentic local ambient of authentic vajats, with beautiful view on this region of Serbia called Shumadija. Departure to Vrnjacka Spa. Accommodation in a hotel. Free time. Dinner in a national restaurant. Overnight.

 

Day 4. Vrnjacka Spa – Monastery Zica – Monastery Studenica – Vrnjacka Spa (BLD) (cca 130km)
Breakfast. Departure and visit to the monastery Zica, foundation of the Serbian King Stefan Nemanjic, the First-Crowned. Presents the first seat of the Serbian Archbishopic. Departure to monastery Studenica, dedicated to the Presentation of the Holy Virgin. This monastery presents the mother-church of all Serbian temples. Lunch in the monastery. Return to Vrnjacka Spa. Free time. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 5. Vrnjacka Spa – Cacak – Terzica Avlija - Zlatibor Mountain (BLD) (cca 180km)
Breakfast. Traveling through Ovcarsko-Kablarska Gorge, unique morphological entity meanders, famous for natural beauty and cultural and historical sights, such as monasteries. This gorge is under protection as national sight of great importance. There are ten monasteries and two holy places in this gorge, built in XVI century. Visit to monastery Nikolje, built probably at the end of the XIV or at the begining of the XV century. The most valuable icon is Mother Virgin Passionate, created at the begining os the XVI century. Visit to etno – park Terzica Avlija, that presents the former typical village farmyard with two old houses, economic house and souvenir cottage. Lunch in this etno village – taste the local specialties of Zlatibor Mountain and enjoy the ambient of the beautifull hilly area surrounded with forests. Departure to Zlatibor, mountain of gentle valleys and hilly country. Accommodation. Dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight.

 

Day 6. Zlatibor – Sargan Eight - Ethno village Mecavnik – Zlatibor (BLD) (cca 150km)
Breakfast. An enjoyable journey by steam-powered train going through beautiful countryside not far away from Zlatibor and Tara. The train is called ‘’Sarganska osmica’’ or ’’The Figure of Eight of Sargan’’ which is a narrow railroad shaped as number eight. The large elevation change in so short a distance will leave you breathless. Visit to the ethno-village of Mecavnik which was created by well-known movie director, Emir Kusturica. Lunch. Return to Zlatibor. Free time. Dinner. Overnight.

 

Day 7. Zlatibor – Belgrade
Breakfast. Departure towards Belgrade, with stops for lunch in old water mill. Short walk on Rajac mountain, over meadows and pastures. Arrival to Belgrade. Accommodation in hotel. Dinner in a national restaurant. Overnight.

 

Day 8. Belgrade (BL) (cca 250km)
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport. The end of the program.
