Dear Kornelia,
I hope you are well.
In the meantime I have received a feedback from Mr. Lipps - I am sure you remember the tour you have organized for him ;-)
It might be interesting for you what he says about Serbia:
+ the quality of the acommodation was fine, it was exactly what he has expected
+ The guided city tours have been ok.
+ Regarding the route:
- to Novi Sad: the route up to Veternik is dangerous because of the traffic. I would recommend as an alternative the route Celarevo.
- from Novi Sad: the route is as dangerous as before Novi Sad. As an alternative I recommend: Train Novi Sad to Beska, with bike from Beska to Batajnica (new bike trail), approx. 45 km, from there train to Belgrad
- in the tunnels at the Iron Gate it is recommendable to bring along a pocket lamp. Otherwise it is too dangerous.
Once again he also would like to thank you for your assistance. His letter shows me that he is very proud to have managed this long distance trail. It has meant a lot to him.
I am looking forward to hear your comments.
With best regards from Austria,
i.A. Claudia Hoflehner

Re: PILGRIMAGE TOUR THROUGH SERBIA
Dear Mrs. Cornelia,
Yesterday we came back - well and deep impressed - from the pilgrimage.
We had a cupple of meetings (organised and spontaneous) and we lerned a lot about Serbia, the society, the landscape and the people there.
- The various accomodations was for this experiences very helpful, expecially the private quartier in Baski Petrovac and the open air gallery /Kapitan Misin. The hosts there was very courteously and friendly.
- The handling in all the receptions was easy and uncomplicate, with the exception of the hunting lodge in B. Palanka. We thank you in this case for the quick and obliging help with acommodation in Silver Lake/Villa Lago. So the group has no inconvenience.
- The breakfrast was different; Not in all accomodations we´ve got a coffe; in other hotels we have to order and to pay them extra.
- The bus-agency and all drivers was flexibel and reliable.
- The signposting along the way (we used the Danube-velo-route foundet by the GTZ) was mostly good and easy to find. We bought the maps still in Germany. Do you know this maps?
At last I will thank you in the name of the hole group.
Next year we plan to go throught Romania. Perhaps we can use your service again. (With busses from this country and drivers speaking the romanian language)
Best wishes
Carola

I did have a great time in Serbia and I want to thank you for all your help and advice and pleasant company. I enjoyed the overall feeling of experiencing a country that I actually travelled for the first time (as you will recall,I had only been briefly to Belgrade and Novi Sad before).and that I was very much interested in (music, food, language, religion, history) .If you want me to name some highlights I would recall, amongst others, the lunch in the peaceful and panoramic surroundings of the "Suzanna place" ,the surprising fortress of Smederevo, the Zica monastry , the (monastry ) area of the Ovcar-Kablar gorge, the scenery between Cacak and Zlatibor and the lively atmosphere of Belgrade. And I may not forget ,of course, all these dinners in great atmosphere (Skadarlija, the boats, Novi Sad, Nis....) . The Balkanika DVD I enjoyed most (because they regularly focus on the various instruments it becomes easier to closely follow tthe music). And thanks for the link to Djurdjevdan( my favourite) !
Best regards, Francis
