Every Saturday from Novi Sad at 10.00 AM from the city center starts a guaranteed tour where you will:

· Get yourself familiar with Sremski Karlovci (visit the Cathedral Church and the Chapel of Peace)
· Taste quality Fruska Gora wines in one of the wineries in Karlovac
· Visit at least three monasteries in Fruska Gora
· Rest of the tour is arranged between the tour guide and the group (visit to one more of the monasteries, some of Fruska Gora lakes, wineries, ...)


Program:

Departure in front of the Hotel Putnik. Departure to Sremski Karlovci. A short visit to the church at Tekije and remindment of the last battle with the Turks in this region 1716. The uniqueness of this church is reflected in the fact that at one time it had three Christian altars. Arrival in Karlovac, a small baroque town which is significant in several ways, its history and the unique wines that are made here. Visiting the attractions in the center: ”Four Lions” fountain, Karlovac seminary, Patriarchal Palace, the first Serbian high school, etc... Visit to the Cathedral Church. Visit to one of the many wineries and tasting of 5 types of wines. Karlovac tasting Italian and Rhine Riesling, cabernet, merlot and the most famous - Bermet. Visit to the Chapel of Peace, where ih the 1699 had been signed a peace treaty between the Christian Alliance (Austria, Prussia and Venice) and Ottoman (Turks) and for the first time in world diplomacy, a round table was used for negotiations.

Going to the monastery Krušedol (XVI century) - the most important monastery on Fruska Gora, which was founded by Bishop Maksim (Djordje Brankovic) with his mother Angelina. The monastery church is dedicated to the Annunciation and it is wondefuly painted - the oldest frescoes are from the mid-sixteenth century and the represent the most important Baroque paintings of the Serbs.

Next stop is the monastery Grgeteg which is specific because that is is perhaps the only Serbian monastery that is not painted in frescoes. The monastery church is dedicated to Saint Nicholas. In this monastery is keep a copy of the best copies of the Icons of the Mother of God Trojeručica from Hilandara on Athos.

Visit to at least one more monastery in agreement with a group lunch or Fruska Gora or at the  Card on the Danube. If desired it is possible to arrange a visit to one of the lakes in the Fruska worse, or one of the ethno households in the village in Srem, or one of the wine cellars in Banoštr or Cerevic.

Return back to Novi Sad is scheduled at 18.00 h.
