Day 1. Vukovar – Backa Palanka – Karadjordjevo – Backa Palanka (D) (cca 45km)
Depart for Backa Palanka, one of the hunting and fishing centers of the Danube region. Bike tour of the city and its surroundings. Tour of Karadjordjevo, the special hunting ground that was a favorite of Tito, president of the former Yugoslavia. Accommodation in Backa Palanka. Dinner. Overnight.

 

Day 2. Backa Palanka – Novi Sad (BD) (cca 50km)
After breakfast, depart for Novi Sad on the left side of Danube River. Bike tour beginning on the right side of the Danube, passing through Nestin and Banostor, and then crossing over to the Danube's left bank to Novi Sad. Arrive in Novi Sad. Bike ride through the beautiful city of Novi Sad. Accommodation in Novi Sad. Dinner. Overnight.

 

Day 3. Novi Sad – Cenej – Novi Sad (BD) (cca 35km)
Breakfast. Bike tour through salas, traditional farms in the rural areas surrounding Novi Sad. Cenej, which was a reference to in the XIII century originally featured approximately 500 salas farms. Today, just 100 farms remain. Lunch on a salas farm, where you will enjoy excellent service and experience the unique farm tradition of the region. Return to Novi Sad. Dinner at a floating restaurant along the shores of the Danube coast overlooking the Petrovaradin Fortress, also known as the Gibraltar of the Danube. Overnight.

 

Day 4. Novi Sad – Sremski Karlovci – Fruska Gora National Park – Beska – Belgrade (BD) (whole tour cca 90 km – by bike cca 40km)
Breakfast. Bike tour around Petrovaradin Fortress. Bike ride to Sremski Karlovci. Optional lunch on the shores of the Danube. Option to visit a wine cellar and sample the locally branded aromatic Bermet wine. Bike ride to Fruska Gora Mountain, which includes hilly terrain along its ridges. Option to visit one of the 17 XV and XVI century monasteries in the region. Bike ride to Beska. Bus ride to Belgrade. Accommodation. Dinner at a floating restaurant. Overnight.

 

Day 5. Belgrade (BD) (cca 70km) (BD)
Breakfast. Full day bike tour of Belgrade. City sightseeing - Knez Mihajlova Street, Kalemegdan Fortress, Princess Ljubica Palace, St. Marko’s Church, St. Sava Temple, House of Flowers. Dinner either at a restaurant in Skadarlia, Belgrade's bohemian district or at a floating restaurant. Overnight.

Day 6. Belgrade – Kovin – Deliblato Sands – Bela Crkva (BD) (whole cca100km – by bike cca 45km)
Breakfast. Bus ride to Banat along the shores of the Danube and crossing over the edge of the Deliblato Sand. This sandy relief abounds with dunes and is the oldest and most unique in Europe; it is a well-preserved eco-system abundant with rare plant species. Short break in an ethnic Hungarian village. Optional lunch. Bike ride through the Deliblato Sands. Arrive in Bela Crkva. Accommodation near the local lake. Dinner. Overnight.

 

Day 7. Bela Crkva – Ram – Silver Lake – Golubac (BD) (cca km)
Breakfast. Bike ride via ferry across the Danube River toward the Ram fortress, which is located on a steep cliff that descends down to the Danube River. The fort was built during the time of the Turkish Sultan Bayezid II. Continue to Silver Lake and experience the glimmer of its surface on a sunny day. Lunch along the shores of the lake. Depart for Golubac and visit its famous XIV century fortress. Bike ride through the Djerdap Gorge and National Park. Accommodation. Dinner. Overnight.

 

Day 8. Golubac – Lepenski Vir – Donji Milanovac (BD) (cca 60km)
Follow the Danube riding through tunnels and gorges. Depart for Lepenski Vir, the Mesolithic archaeological site on the banks of the Danube River. Traditional dinner and gathering with a naive sculptor who will serve as your host. Enjoy the beautiful ambiance featuring the sounds of the flute and the spectacular sunset of the Danube region. Accommodation.

 

Day 9. Donji Milanovac (BD)
Breakfast. Option to bike and trek in the area surrounding Donji Milanovac. Bike through the Iron Gates, a beautiful area dotted with the remains of the Roman Empire. Visit Tabula Traiana, the plaque left behind by Emperor Trajan to commemorate the road he built through the Djerdap region. Visit Trajan’s Bridge (103 – 105 AD), the most significant bridge built during the Roman Empire. Return to Donji Milanovac. Dinner. Overnight.

 

Day 10. Donji Milanovac – Canyon of Boljetin River – Reserve Ciganski Potok – Donji Milanovac (BD) (cca 30km)
Breakfast. Bike ride through the Djerdap National Park. Bike ride through the Ciganski Potok Reserve, which serves as the natural habitat for a rare variety of walnut and beech trees. Return to Donji Milanovac. Overnight.

 

Day 11. Donji Milanovac – Rajkova Cave – Debeli Lug – Donji Milanovac (BD) (cca 60km)
Breakfast. Depart for the spectacular Rajkova Cave. The cave is rare in its natural beauty and draws a number of visitors each year. The area abounds with rivers and streams. Danilovo Vrelo is a perfect campsite in the heart of the Majdanpek region; the site is also the base of the Fešeljan River, which gushes out of a cave. Return to Donji Milanovac. Overnight.

 

Day 12. Donji Milanovac – Miroc Mountain – Donji Milanovac (BD) (cca 40km)
Breakfast. Depart for Miroc Mountain. Along with the village of Miroc, this area represents the authentic way of life in this region. The scenery and diversity here is breathtaking. Miroc and its sourroundings feature the Gradašnica Cave, Gradašnica River Canyon, and rich and diverse flora and fauna. Overnight.

 

Day 13. Donnji Milanovac - Kladovo (BD) (cca 60km)
Breakfast. Depart for Kladovo, a beautiful town located on the right bank of the Danube River. Bike ride through Veliki and Mali Kazan, the narrowest portions of the Djerdap Gorge. Arrive at Djedap’s Hydroelectic power plant and sightsee. Arrive in Kladovo. Visit the first century Diana Fort, built high on a cliff overlooking the Danube. Accommodation. Dinner. Overnight.

 

Day 14. Kladovo – Negotin (BD) (cca 55km)
Breakfast. Depart for Negotin. This hilly area has a 3km ascent. Optional visit to the village of Vratna, which features a beautiful XIV century monastery. The Vratanjske Kapije (Vratanjske Gates) is a natural phenomenon of oddly shaped rocks that hang over the Vratna River Gorge. Lunch. Bike ride along the Danube coast to Negotin. Arrive to Negotin. Accommodation. Dinner. Overnight.

 

Day 15. Negotin – Rajac – Bulgarian Border (B) (cca 40km)
Breakfast. Depart for Pimnice of Rajac, unique complex of wine cellars that are partially dug into the ground. Arrive to the Bulgarian border. End of tour.
