In this eight day you will enjoy in traditional lifestyle on the plains of Vojvodina, see the old way of preparing national Serbian drink “rakija” in the villages of western Serbia, enjoy in the most popular and most visited mountain of western Serbia, Mountain Zlatibor. In cosmopolitan Belgrade you will discover and feel hot Balkan atmosphere and have the time of your life. Prepare yourself only for enjoyment.

Day 1. Belgrade – Novi Sad – Cenej –Novi Sad (cca115km)
Arrival to the Belgrade airport. Rent-a-car check in, departure to Novi Sad. Arrival to one of the many salas farms on Cenej. Lunch - traditional local specialties and relaxing day in typical atmosphere of Vojvodina region and beautiful sound of musical instrument „tambura“. Horse back riding and rich programme in entertainment for children. Departure to Novi Sad. Accomodation in apartment in the very center of the city, dinner on Petrovaradin fortress. Overnight.

Day 2. Novi Sad – Bac – Sombor – Backa Topola – Becej – Novi Sad (cca 250km)
After breakfast, departure to Bac, visit to the minor priory and fortress from XIV century built on a small island made from former river Mostonga. Departure to Sombor, sightseeing. Visit to the Church of Holy Trinity, Milan Konjovic’s gallery, Zupni Dvor (castle) which has the famous sundial, shopping at the open market… Traditional Vojvodina's lunch in a salas farm near Sombor. Departure to Backa Topola and visit to the hors farm Zobnatica with a museum of coaches and trophies. Departure to Becej and a visit to St. Georges Church and Fantast, Bogdan Dundjerski's castle, tour of the most beautiful and best preserved castle in Vojvodina. Return to Novi Sad, short evening walk on the main promenade or a night out in one of the many nightclubs in the city. Overnight.

Day 3. Novi Sad – Petrovaradin – Sremski Karlovci – Fruska Gora – Sremska Mitrovica – Sabac - Loznica – Osecina (cca 210km)

After the breakfast we recommend you sightseeing of the town, walk in pedestrian zone (Sloboda Square, Cathedral, City Hall, Zmaj Jovina Street, Dunavska Street, Orthodox Church) or visit one of the museums. After that, across the river, visit to the Petrovaradin fortress – famous as Gibraltar on the Danube, represents a classical example of military architecture of the XVIII century with the most beautiful view on Novi Sad. We recommend you to take a tour in underground system of military galleries, with profesional guide. Departure to Sremski Karlovci - small baroque town, famous for its beautiful architecture and wine and grape from the nearby vineyard on the brows of the Fruska Gora Mountain. City sightseeing and wine tasting in one of the many wine cellars in Karlovci town. Short break for the lunch, we recommend you a restaurant „Danube“ on the river. Departure to Fruska Gora and visit to monastery Hopovo and Krusedol, two of the 15 monasteries on the Fruska Gora mountain. Because of that fact, Fruska Gora is known as „Sveta Fruska Gora“ by the reputation of Sveta Gora on the Athos in Greece. Both monasteries are dating back from XVI century. Departure to Sremska Mitrovica, archeological and historical sight and museum. This is one of the oldest towns in Europe that stands on the site of Sirmium, the capital of the Roman Empire and a birthplace of 6 great Roman emperors. The complex of archeological excavated objects of this town, today represents an unique open-air museum. Departure to Sabac and Loznica. In Loznica, visit to monastery Tronosa and a house of Vuk St. Karadzic, a Serbian linguist and major reformer of the Serbian language. Departure to Osecina, place known to it's production of Serbian traditional drink called Rakija and to it's festival of plums im the summer Accommodation in a household. Overnight.

Day 4. Osecina – Valjevo – Bajina Basta – Mecavnik – Mokra Gora (Sargan Eight) – Sirogojno – Zlatibor (cca 230km)
Breakfast. Departure to Valjevo and optional visit to monastery Lelic or Pustinja. Departure to Bajina Basta on Tara mountain. Afterwards a visit to Mecavnik, a village which was built by well-known movie director Emir Kusturica. Lunch. An enjoyable journey by steam-powered train going through beautiful countryside not far away from Zlatibor and Tara. The train is called ‘’Sarganska osmica’’ or ’’The Figure of Eight of Sargan’’ which is a narrow railroad shaped as number eight. The large elevation change in so short a distance will leave you breathless. Departure to Sirogojno, introducing the traditional life of a Serbian village in the Ethno Museum of Sirogojno with its open-air museum, which is famous for it's charmingly, designed woolen sweaters. Departure to mountain Zlatibor, accommodation and overnight.

 


Ovacar-Kablar gorge

Day 5. Zlatibor – Pozega – Cacak – Kragujevac – Topola – Oplenac – Orasac – Belgrade (cca 280km)
Breakfast. Departure to Cacak, through the Ovcar – Kablar Gorge, located in the central part of Serbia. The nature has extraordinary features – endless greenery, rich flora and fauna, salutary water in Ovcar spa..., and it is under state protection. This gorge is special also for its exceptional complex of Ovcar – Kablar monasteries, on the left and the right bank of Zapadna Morava. There are ten monasteries and two holy places in this gorge, built in XVI century. Optional visit to one of the monasteries. Departure to Kragujevac and a visit to a Memorial park in Sumarice, museum that comemorates the tragic event of 1941, when innocent civilians among them many schoolchildren, were shot by the German occupiers. Departure to historical town Topola. Visit to military museum, church and commemorative school which represents a memorial compound of buildings proclaimed for the protected cultural wealth. Visit to Oplenac, the hill above Topola, place where the Serbian kings of the Karadjordjevic Dynasty had their resorts. In the beautiful church of St.George all the members of the royal family are buried – Karadjordjevic mausoleum. Departure to Orasac, the historical place where the First Serbian Uprising against the Turks was held. After, we organize you lunch in a rural household called „Karadjordjev vajat“ in authentic local ambient with beautiful view on this region of Serbia called Shumadija. Atmosphere, great food and a typical Serbian drink called „rakija“ along with the serbian folk music will bring you back to the Serbia from XIX century. Departure to Belgrade, accommodation in the apartment in the center. We recommend you dinner in one of the many restaurants. Overnight.

 


Smederevo

Day 6. Belgrade – Smederevo – Viminacium- Silver lake – Belgrade (cca 250km)
Breakfast. Traveling along the Danube, with a beautiful view on the medieval fortresses along the shore Departure to Smederevo and a optional visit to a medieval fortress from XV century built by Despot Djuradj Brankovic. Departure to Viminacium, archeological site called Viminacium, ancient Roman city and former capital city of the region „Upper Mezija“ with the remains of the fortress. Viminacium, also known as „ Balkan Pompeii“, was robbed and destroyed in V century. The remains were under the ground till recent times. Departure to Silver lake. Swimming and laying on the beach, relaxing day near water. Return to Belgrade. Dinner accompanied by musicians at the famous bohemian Belgrade quarter of Skadarlija that emanates an oriental atmosphere in the down town. For those who want to experience a real Balkan night life, we recommend cafes on the river in Belgrade and Zemun.

 

Day 7. Belgrade – Kovacica - Belgrade (cca 95km)
Breakfast. Departure to Kovacica, village where you can visit ethno center Babka, where the world famous Naïve Art Gallery is. Return to Belgrade, sightseeing of the town - Kalemegdan fortress - primary built by Celts in the III century BC with the ZOO, Republica Square, Knez Mihailova Street - main pedestrian zone with cafes and shops, Terazije, St. Sava's temple - the biggest orthodox church in the world, Parliament, St. Mark’s church, open markets... Optional visit to the “House of flowers”, grave of long standing president of former Yugoslavia – Tito... Overnight.

Day 8. Belgrade (cca 20km)
Breakfast. Departure to the airport and flight home
