OPTION 3 (first 6 days are described in Option 1)


Day 7. Belgrade – Skorenovac – Banatska Palanka (BL) (cca 110km)

Breakfast. Bus ride to Banat along the shores of the Danube and crossing over the edge of the Deliblato Sand. This sandy relief abounds with dunes and is the oldest and most unique in Europe; it is a well-preserved eco-system abundant with rare plant species. Short break in an ethnic Hungarian village. Lunch. Bike ride through the Deliblato Sand and depart for salas farm. Arrive to ethno-village where the 2007 film St. George Kills the Dragon was shot. The complex features a salas farm where cattle and mangulica, an ancient species of pig whose meat has no blood, is raised. Arrive to Banatska Palanka. Accommodation near the Danube shore. Overnight.

Day 8. Banatska Palanka – Ram – Silver Lake (BL) (cca 20km)
Breakfast. Bus ride by ferry across the Danube River toward Ram fortress, which is located on a steep cliff that descends down to the Danube River. The fort was built during the time of the Turkish Sultan Bayezid II. Bike ride to Srebrno Lake (Silver Lake), which features a beautiful view of the Danube on one side and the lake on the other. Continue to Silver Lake and experience glimmer of its surface on a sunny day. Lunch along the shores of the lake. Accommodation in a hotel. Overnight.


Day 9. Silver Lake – Viminacium – Smederevo – Grocka – Belgrade (BD) (cca 130km)
Breakfast. Bus ride to Viminacium, formerly a Roman town. Archaeologists have discovered approximately 14,000 graves in the town’s necropolis. Brief sightseeing. Depart for Smederevo, an ancient Roman town along the right bank of the Danube River. Visit Smederevo fortress, the largest in Serbia. The structure was built by despot Djuradj Brankovic. Combined bus and bike ride to Grocka. Sightseeing in the old town of Grocka. Learn about this city’s great history and visit some of its beautiful homes. Visit the church and the Center for Culture, where you will witness a unique cultural program. Short story about the center and visit to a weaving workshop. Brandy and wine tasting. Visit a souvenir exhibit and purchase items from the weaving workshop. Folklore program. Enjoy seafood specialties on a floating restaurant along the shores of the Danube. Bus ride to Belgrade.


Day 10 Belgrade (BD) (cca 30km)
Breakfast. Fullday bike tour of Belgrade. City sightseeing - Knez Mihajlova Street, Kalemegdan Fortress, Princess Ljubica Palace, St. Marko’s Church, St. Sava Temple, House of Flowers. Dinner. Overnight.


Day 11. Belgrade (B) (cca 15km)
Breakfast. Depart for airport. End of program.
