Wind your way through some of Serbia’s most spectacular mountain paths and scenic valleys. This 10-day tour is an ideal journey for the outdoors enthusiast. Trek through lush forests and witness sparkling springs and waterfalls. This unique excursion combines biking and trekking with the opportunity to experience the rugged Serbian countryside, local customs, and wonderful cuisine. You will feel like you are part of a Balkan fairy tale!
Day 1. Belgrade – Babin Zub
Gather with tour participants in Belgrade from morning to late afternoon. Transfer of participants and their bikes to Old Mountain. Accommodation. Dinner. Briefing. Free time. Overnight.
Day 2 Babin Zub
Breakfast. Trekking tour to Babin Zub (Grandma’s tooth) (altitude 757m), part of the Babin Zub Nature Reserve. Lunch. Afternoon mountain biking to the charming Jabucko Ravniste. View of a beautiful vista on the return trip. Dinner. Pleasant evening stroll. Free time. Overnight.
Day 3. Midzor
Breakfast. Full day tour with lunch to Serbia’s highest peak, Midzor (altitude 2169 m). Dinner. Free time. If the group exceeds 15 people, we will organize a small party at the hotel or in mountain lodge. Overnight.
Day 4. Mountain Vidlic – Topli Do – Temstica Gorge – Mountain Vidlic
Breakfast. Tour to the base of Old Mountain. Pause for a sightseeing walk through the rugged and picturesque valleys of this old mountain village. Bicycle tour continues to the confluence of the two gushing mountain rivers, Toplodolska River and Visocica River. Short break. Picnic lunch on a beautiful meadow dotted with old plum trees. Visit to the 14th century St. George monastery. Short trek to a waterfall featuring views of the Temstica Valley. Bicycle tour ends at Temska village. Dinner. Short briefing. Free time. Overnight.
Day 5. Mountain Vidlic – Dojkinci Village – Vrelo –Vidlic Mountain
Breakfast. Full day bicycle tour through scenic mountain roads, Dojkinci village and Arbinje. Lunch (lunch-package) at the Arbinje Natural reserve area. On the return trip, we will visit a picturesque and beautiful well called Vrelo. Dinner. Free time. Overnight
Day 6. Vidlic Mountain – Risovci Village – Visocica River – Smilovci Village – Vidlic Mountain
Breakfast. Bicycle tour to the village of Rsovci and visit to cave church dedicated to St. Peter and Paul. The church features one of the most unique frescos in Europe called the Bald Jesus. Trek to the cliffs above Visocica River and to the vista at the beginning of the Visocica Gorge. Return to Rsovci via the Jelovicka River Valley. Trek through a forest and across broad meadows to an altitude of 1250 m. Traditional dinner featuring local customs and an ethno music program at a superb ethno tavern in the village Smilovci. Overnight.
Day 7. Vidlic Mountain – Pirot – Zavojsko Lake – Vidlic Mountain
Breakfast. Trek through a vista and on to Mt. Vidlic’s highest peak, Basarski Kamen. Visit the Domiciliary Museum. Lunch. See how the beautiful woven rugs of Pirot are made. Transfe to Zavojsko Lake. Pleasant sunset walk by the lake. Transfer back to Pirot. Dinner. Overnight.
Day 8. Vidlic Mountain – Jeep Tour
Breakfast. Full day jeep tour to remote remote mountain villages and landscapes. Visit the small but very impressive and striking Rosomacka River Ravine, called Rosomacki Lonci. Drive to the villages of Rosomac, Slavinja, Kamenica and Senokos. Picnic lunch in the marvelous countryside surrounding Senokos village. Exciting off-road drive to the peak of Srebrna Glava (Silver head). Short trek to the peak itself (1932 m.) Return to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight.
Day 9. Vidlic Mountain – Sukovo Village – Jerma River Valley – Poganovo Monastery – Sukovo Village – Vidlic Mountain
Breakfast. 15 km downhill bike ride from the hotel to the city of Pirot. Visit the Sukovo monastery. Bicycle ride through the beautiful Jerma River Valley. Visit the Poganovo monastery. Lunch at a restaurant close to the monastery. Bike ride through the stunning Jerma River Canyon. Return to Sukovo village. Dinner. Farewell party. Overnight.
Day 10 . Vidlic Mounatin – Belgrade
Breakfast. Lunch-package delivery. Depart from the hotel. Transfer of tour participants and their bicycles to Belgrade. Farewell to the group. End of tour.
